DSI : Database of Scientific Illustrators

An important tool for all researchers in scientific illustrations is the wonderful database created by Dr Klaus Hentschel from the University of Stuttgart. This is called DSI, short for Database of Scientific Illustrators. It includes 3,639 illustrators from 1450 to 1950 and can be searched in 20 different domains (date of birth, date of death, country of activity, collaborators, publisehd sources…).
